May 6-12 is Maternal Mental Health Week, a time to raise awareness about the well-being of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. According to MaternalMentalHealthnow.org, the #1 complication of pregnancy and the post-partum period is depression and anxiety. It’s imperative we advocate for better healthcare treatment and resources and address mental well-being for pre and postpartum patients everywhere.
