Amy Shields, M.A.
Communications Director
Amy Shields, M. A., has 20 years of experience as a leader in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations.
With a proven track record of managing strategic communication initiatives, Amy has successfully led communication campaigns that drive engagement and enhance the visibility of organizations, both internally and externally. Most recently she managed and provided leadership for internal and external communications initiatives at Capital Caring Health, a leading non-profit hospice and advanced illness care organization in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Additionally, she has provided leadership and managed communications programs UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas; Texas Health Resources, based in Arlington, Texas; and Providence Health Care based in Spokane, Washington.
Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Mississippi University for Women, and she received a master’s degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently enrolled in the Management Development Executive Education Program at the Wharton School of Business.
She has received numerous awards from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Amy volunteers with Grace Cares, the community outreach program with Grace Covenant Church in Chantilly, Virginia, and Blue Star Families, an organization committed to strengthening military families.
She is a proud military spouse and a mother to three children.
